THE PALACE WINES

Excellent food calls for quality wines to match. Moltke’s Palace offers four different wine series, all of which belong to the ”good house wine” category. The wines have been selected with an eye to pleasing a wide spectrum of tastes, and they are certain to satisfy all guests.
 
We are also happy to customise our wine series to feature wines of your choice, and you are welcome to choose wines from more than one series. For suggestions or an estimate, contact Moltke’s Palace.
 

Moltke’s Palace french wines

2010 Chardonnay Beauvignac, Cave les Costières de Pomerols (France)
Rich gold colour with golden hues. Floral and peach aromas balanced by a strong flavour that is both soft and harmonious, featuring distinctive fruit nuances. 
 
2010 Côtes du Roussillon, Mas las Cabes, Domaine Gardiés (France)
A full-bodied red wine with a rich finish, powerful fragrance of fruit and fine tannins. A blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan from Lanquedoc-Roussillon. A perfect match with heavy main courses.
 
2009 Muscat des Rivesaltes, Domaine Gardiés, Roussillon (France)
Golden, sweet white wine with a lovely elderflower nose and a touch of citrus. A blend of 70% Muscat Petits Grains and 30% Muscat d’Alexandrie grapes, the wine is aged in small wooden casks left in the open air. Suitable for pairing with desserts with some acidity or with light cheeses.
  

Moltke's Palace italian wines

2009 Poggio Bidini Insolia, Valle dell’Acate, Sicily (Italy)
Mature, lightly golden white wine produced from 100% Insolia grapes. The wine starts out slightly fat on the palate with the flavour of green apples and finishes with the perfect amount of crispness. Perfect with light appetizers, fish and fresh sauces.
 
2009 Farnese, Terre di Chieti, Sangiovese (Italy)
Medium-bodied garnet red wine with an intense and persistent fragrance. Good balance between tannins and fruit (strawberries and dark cherries) and a vinous note of oak. Perfect with light main courses and cheese.
 
2009 Moscato d’Asti D.O.C.G. (Italy)
Straw yellow, mature, delicate and refreshing Moscato d’Asti with amazing notes of jasmine and a light touch of sage and other herbs. Good on its own or with desserts or cakes featuring hazelnuts, pies, or fruit salad. 
  

Moltke’s Palace international wines

2009 Chardonnay Reserve, Viña Tabalí, Limari Valley (Chile)
Full-bodied Chardonnay. Bold aromas of exotic fruit balanced with nut and butter flavours as well as a hint of vanilla. Suitable for pairing with hearty fish dishes, seafood and poultry. Also makes an excellent aperitif.
 
2005 Shiraz-Cabernet-Merlot "600 Series", Printhie, Orange Region (Australia)
Dark ruby red wine with a round, soft palate, this balanced blend offers wonderful structure and length. Made from Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. Its depth and intensity are well matched to meat based dishes.
 
2008 Late Harvest White Riesling, Kiona Vineyards and Winery (Washington State, USA)
Deep golden wine boasting elegant, fresh sweetness and a hint of acidity. Complex aromas of lemon, citrus, flowers, apricots and peaches. Excellent with fruit-based desserts.
  

Moltke’s Palace innovative wines

2009 Ca N’Estruc, Cataluñya (Spain)
Crisp, light gold and mature white wine with delicate citrus undertones and a pleasing finish. A blend of 70% Xarel-lo, 15% Macabeo and 15% Chardonnay grapes. Suitable for pairing with lighter dishes as well as for drinking as an aperitif.
 
2010 Domaine Cabanis, Costières de Nîmes, Rhône, (Agriculture Biologique, France)
Mature, medium full-bodied red wine with lovely cherry fruit and a touch of pepper. Oak barrel aging is apparent in the long finish. A blend of organic Grenache, Carignan, Syrah and Mourvèdre grapes.
Suitable for pairing with light meals, fried fish, poultry, white meats and grilled dishes.
 
Tawny Port, Casa de Santa Eufêmia (Portugal)
Mature, dark red port with wonderful fruit flavours and a hint of cherry stone with a long, rich finish. A blend of the classic grape varietals aged in wood barrels. Goes well with cheeses, light desserts and chocolate.
